This position serves as the department focal point for developing new explosives and pyrotechnics and supporting bombs and warheads contracts. The position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our facility located in Promontory, UT./ppRole Description and Responsibilities: The Explosives and Pyrotechnics (Advanced Energetic Solutions) engineering manager directs a high performing team of approximately 13 individuals who create innovative methodologies to solve complex engineering challenges related to energetic materials. They implement solutions to designs and analyses that reduce lifecycle costs. The manager is also responsible to: mentor and bring out the best in each team member, help them meet and overcome challenges and progress in their careers, help them feel personal satisfaction in their accomplishments, and convey and implement department and corporate expectations./ppJob Duties:/pulliDirect engineering methodology and maintenance tasks for team/liliDirect explosives and pyrotechnics activities and coordinate efforts across PS to include energetic synthesis, formulation, scale-up and storage/handling/liliCoordinate Team tasks, budgets, and schedules with program managers, IRD leadership, project engineers, and others in PS/liliOversee Team member workloads and task progression and completion/liliMentor Team members in personal growth and career development/liliLead and document periodic formal and informal performance reviews and determine merits and promotions/liliReview and update standard work requirements and guidelines/liliDetermine staffing requirements/liliSupport initiatives of engineering leadership/li/ulpBasic Qualifications:/pulliB.S. degree in an engineering or science discipline and 8 years experience, M.S. degree in an engineering or science discipline with 6 years experience, or a PhD.
