Job Title: Inpatient Rehab (IRF PAI) Coder – Contract to Hire
Location: Remote (FL, GA, AL, SC, NC, KY, AR, AZ, MD)
Pay: $32–40

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Rehab (IRF PAI) Coder to join on a remote, contract-to-hire basis. This role focuses on complex inpatient rehab charts with multiple comorbidities and multi-trauma patients.
Responsibilities:
- Code Inpatient Rehab Facility (IRF) PAI charts using CMG vs. DRG guidelines and IRF PPS .
- Manually abstract codes (no CAC) from charts that may exceed 90 pages.
- Assign IGC codes and ensure accurate functional status scoring.
- Collaborate with the team on coding questions and complex cases.
Systems Used:
- Meditech Expanse
- 3M / Solventum
Schedule & Training:
- Training: 9am–5pm EST, 1:1 support, 3–6 months onboarding depending on experience
- Work Hours: 40 hours/week, EST time zone, flexible post-training, consistent weekends if scheduled
Qualifications:
- Open to AAPC or AHIMA certified coders
- Strong knowledge of IRF PAI, CMGs, multi-comorbidities, and functional scoring
- Experience with Inpatient Rehab or similar facilities preferred
Metrics & Expectations:
- Productivity: 4–5 charts/day (charts can be 90–100+ pages)
- Accuracy: 95%
