A low key and kind New York City-based family of four is seeking a highly organized and discreet full-time House Manager/Butler with a minimum of 7 years of experience in private service (preferably modern). This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain seamless household operations with efficiency. The House Manager/Butler will be responsible for keeping the homes in perfect order, preparing the estate for family arrivals, holidays, parties, and events, as well as managing vendors, repairs, supplies, and various household tasks.

This is an opportunity for an individual to join a family in the early stages of establishing their estate operations, with the opportunity to grow as the family continues to expand its portfolio of properties and staff.

Key Responsibilities

Estate Management & Operations:

  • Oversee the overall maintenance and repair of the 2 primary estates.
  • Schedule and supervise vendors, ensuring familiarity with various administrative requirements typical of luxury residences.
  • Schedule yearly maintenance for all appliances.
  • Oversee the childcare, housekeeping and culinary staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Travel to other properties and locations as needed
  • Advance to properties and other locations as needed to ensure they are set up for family prior to arrival

Organization & Inventory:

  • Design and maintain a systematic organization for all physical spaces, including shelves and drawers.
  • Order and meticulously log all supplies, maintaining an easy-to-check checklist.

Household Support & Services:

  • Perform light laundry duties in case the cleaning staff is unavailable.
  • Maintain a consistently clean and organized living space.
  • Run miscellaneous errands; a valid driver’s license in good standing is required.
  • Serve in a formal dining setting during events.
  • Coordinate events supporting all aspects as needed (vendors management /venue sourcing/invitations, etc)

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate strong communication and multitasking abilities.
  • Able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable around school-aged children.
  • Proven management experience
  • Respectful, resourceful, and adaptable to various situations.
  • Tech savvy with the ability to leverage the latest softwares and programs to optimize systems and processes
  • High EQ, a demonstrated relationship manager with the ability to manage both up and down
  • Solutions-oriented mindset, with an ease and action-oriented mindset when under pressure
  • Prioritize family privacy, exercising extreme discretion in all correspondence and communications.
  • Preferred Qualifications (Bonus): Fluency in French and/or Mandarin. Engineering or hospitality experience.
  • Must have excellent references and clean background

Location : New York, NY

Schedule : Monday – Friday 10am-7pm onsite with flexibility to work longer hours/weekends if needed

Compensation/Benefits : 150-200K DOE, Health Insurance stipend, PTO, sick days, discretionary bonus
